HANDCUT COLLAGES
The careful crafting of abstract and surrealist pieces of analogous collages are created and manipulated by the contemporary and self-taught collagist Maureen Cox.
She gives us her vision and visual narration, choosing paper as a tool for the elaboration of new perspectives on the world, leaving the space of interpretation free for each one of us. For the elaboration, the materials chosen are magazines and newspapers, photographs, and various types of recycled and new papers as well she incorporates inks, pencils, acrylics and glues. These handmade collages are finely and meticulously re-cut or torn, assembled and pasted into a support to be digitized through a laboratory specialized in Fine Art. The final result is a high quality photograph (photocollage) in terms of paper and print to form a single limited edition and final numbered composition, accompanied by its certificate of _authenticity.
